For clarification purposes, “Birth Rape” is not a term that I created. “Birth Rape” has been used for some time to describe care provider inflicted trauma to pregnant and birthing women. This is often used to describe a situation where a woman is coerced into believing something by their care provider either by suggesting the death or harm of their baby if they do not consent to a particular test, procedure, or examination. “Birth Rape” also describes physical abuse inflicted by a care provider due to unwanted procedures ( such as vaginal exams, etc ) done despite clear refusal from the patient.
No means “NO”, even in the hospital. Sadly, it is often ignored.
